With this painting, I intended to depict the rhythmic cycles of life as well as tranquility amidst turbulence and chaos—depicted by a figure in pure white against an explosion of color in the background. The yoga posture highlights fluidity: the arching torso, the gentle curve of arms,
and angled knees. Flowing serpentine lines and bursts of gold reinstate fluidity and the unity of matter. The intricate mandala complements the stretching figure and adds a level of inner spiritual completion.
