IJburg is a residential neighbourhood in Amsterdam, currently under construction. It is situated in the IJmeer and is being built on artificial islands that have been raised from the lake.

The Beemster, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a unique cultural landscape in the Netherlands featuring scenic polders, waterways,dykes and charming farmhouses. In the 1600s, the land was reclaimed by the Dutch in an area that was still an inland sea using windmills- converting it into a gorgeous landscape divided into a grid pattern.
